Room Leader - September 2024 (or sooner)

7 hours 15 mins a day (plus 30 Mins unpaid break)

Grade 5, points 12-15 (Approx. £21,108 per annum).   

Required September 2024 or earlier if available

Wyndham Park Nursery School is an outstanding school and we are looking for a Room Leader to join our small, friendly and dedicated staff team.

The position is for 36.25 hours a week, Monday to Friday 8am – 3.45pm, during term time plus attendance at training days. 

You must have an NVQ 3 in childcare or a similar qualification and ideally a degree in Early Years.

The position is to lead a room in nursery.  In the first instance this will be our N1 room which is a mixture of two- and three-year-olds.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about nurturing the youngest minds and fostering a supportive environment for our children and our staff.

You will work alongside our excellent teachers and you will manage a team of teaching assistants who will support you. However, the ability to work on your own initiative is essential.

You must have a passion for helping with children’s learning and a love of spending time following in the playful pursuits of 2, 3- and 4-year olds!  You must be patient, kind and a great listener of children. Calmness, a good sense of humour and the ability to build relationships are essential qualities.  

What You'll Do:

  • Plan and deliver fun and engaging activities tailored to each child's unique interests and needs that follow the pedagogy of our curriculum.
  • Lead. Manage and support your team members in their roles, ensuring everyone has the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.
  • Keep parents involved and informed about their child's development journey and run parent workshops and meetings as appropriate.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment where children can thrive.
  • Ensure all assessments are completed and accurate
  • Manage the staff team in your room and ensure they are meeting the needs of all of our children

What You'll Need:

  • A caring and nurturing attitude towards young children.
  • Qualifications in childcare (GCSE in Maths and English, at least an NVQ Level 3, or equivalent). Ideally you will have a degree in Early Years but this is not essential for the right person.
  • Previous experience in childcare settings.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development principles and play-based learning.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work well in a team.

The post also requires good literacy skills and excellent communication skills as you will be expected to liaise with other team members, parents and other professionals.

You must have good ICT skills.

We can negotiate the start date to suit you but it must be no later than the beginning of September 2024.

SENDCo - Maternity Cover

One Day a week for the academic year 2024-25

M1-6 with a TLR

Wyndham Park Nursery School is an outstanding school and we are looking for a maternity cover SENDCo to join our small, friendly and dedicated staff team.

The position is for 1 day a week, during term time. For the right person we can be flexible on how this is worked. It could be one full day a week or two half days, it could be set days or different days each week to suit you.

You must have an QTS and experience of being a SENDCo.

Our amazing SENDCo is going on Maternity leave and we need someone to ensure we continue with the excellent job she does.

This is a non-teaching role.

You will work alongside our excellent teachers and teaching assistants and you will ensure that the children at Wyndham Park Nursery School have the best possible start.

What You'll Do:

  • lead, manage, develop and maintain high quality SEN provision which enables quality teaching, excellent learning outcomes and success for all pupils
  • keep all aspects of paperwork including records and policies, up-to-date and actioned, as appropriate including applying for SEND funding
  • Meet with parents and professionals as required

What You'll Need:

  • QTS
  • Experience of being a SENDCo in a school
  • Good ICT skills
  • Excellent organisational skills

The post is to cover Maternity Leave and is expected to be for 12 months from September 2024.
