Laura Cook - Executive Headteacher and Deputy DSL

Laura joined WPNS as Head Teacher in September 2014; she has been a teacher in Early Years for 22 years.  She thinks she has got the best job in the world and loves chatting to the children about what they have been learning – she especially likes popping into the classroom on days when the children have been baking!

Laura has two children of her own – Charlie and Emily.  She often wonders how it can be so much easier to look after over 400 children at the LMNSF schools then it is to take care of two at home!

Laura is also the Executive Headteacher at Gainsborough Nursery School, Boston Nursery and Kingsdown Nursery School 

 

Holly Stock-Cheekooree - Head of School and DSL

Holly joined us in September 2023 as our Head of School.  Holly is responsible for the day to day running of Wyndham Park Nursery school so will be your first point of contact should you need anything. Holly has worked in Early Years Education for over 17 years and is passionate about the early years and making learning exciting!   Holly loves being part of the Wyndham Park Nursery School team! Holly also teaches in the Adventurers classroom in the afternoons.

 

Rebecca Eames - Lead Teacher and SLE

Rebecca trained as an Early Years Specialist and has been helping 3-4 year olds love learning for over 19 years.  She feels lucky to have a job where she can laugh & play all day.  If your child comes home saying, “We have a problem!” they’ve probably been involved in solving one with her at Nursery.  Rebecca has two young children, and come rain or shine, if she’s not outside getting mucky with your children you can bet she has been doing so with her own!

Melissa Prime - Teacher and SENDCo - Maternity Leave Sept 2024-August 2025

Melissa is currently on maternity leave and we are very excited to hear her news and adventures as a new Mum over the coming year!

Melissa has worked in Early Years for 10 years and took on the role of SENCo in 2019. She is proud to be a part of your child’s first experience of education and aims to make every day full of fun, laughter and learning.  Melissa works closely with children who require additional support and helps to guide parents through this process.  

In her free time, Melissa enjoys being outdoors and regularly takes part in extreme sports like rock climbing, gliding and kayaking! 

Driffa Jenkins - SENDCo (Maternity Cover)

Driffa is joining us this year as our SENCO. She has previously worked as a Primary School SENCO and is excited  to be joining the Wyndham Park Nursery School team. Driffa will be working across all of the classes, supporting children with additional needs.

 

 

Teaching Assistants

Penny Fox - Senior Teaching Assistant, Breakfast Club & Deputy DSL

Penny has worked in early education for over 25 years and enjoys the daily challenges and experiences, where no two days are the same! Penny leads our Discovery Room, supporting children with additional needs and also runs Breakfast Club. 

She likes making things and is always willing to lend a hand with sticky tape and glue!

 

Jules Brazil - Teaching Assistant - Relief

Jules retired from WPNS in July 2024 but she has agreed to come back and help us when we need her! She has been working in child care for over 30 years.  She has 2 grown up children and 4 grandchildren.  Jules loves joining in with lots of exciting activities and using plenty of glitter!  Jules is very much looking forward to meeting you all for another exciting year.

 

Jayne Dring - Nursery Nurse

Jayne has worked in early years for over 26 years. She has been a teaching assistant at Wyndham Park Nursery School for over 14 years. Jayne works with our two-year old's in the Explorer's Class.

Jayne is a farmer’s wife with 2 children. She enjoys swimming and walking.

 

Sarah Smith - 2-year-old Room Leader  & Admin Assistant 

Sarah has worked as a teaching assistant at Wyndham Park for 17 years. She now splits her time at nursery between the Explorers classroom and the office! She has 2 young children.

She loves all things Disney, crafting and covering things in glitter!

 

Leah Cox - Childcare Assistant


Leah joined us in April 2023. She has been working across all of our classrooms, supporting the children in their learning and play.

Leah loves interacting with the children and always makes time for them to have a little chat! 

 



Georgina Crossland - After School Club Co-ordinator and Nursery Assistant

Georgina joined our team in January 2021. Georgina loves animals and has lots of pets, including cats, dogs and owls! Georgina likes to be creative and is always excited to meet our new children each year! Georgina runs our After School Club and works within the classrooms.

 

Abby Curtis - Childcare Assistant

Abigail joined us in October 2023 as a childcare assistant and works within the classrooms.

She loves getting to know the children and supporting them each day! Abigail has 2 children and loves dogs, especially her two sausage dogs!

 

 

 

Aga Marchewka - Nursery Assistant 

Aga joined the Wyndham Park Nursery School team in 2017 as a parent volunteer. She had previously worked for 3 years in a local children’s centre where she co-organised a parent and toddler group. Aga completed her apprenticeship with us and now works within the classroom, supporting children with additional needs. Aga enjoys musical activities and has two very energetic children at home!

Jenny Constable- Childcare Assistant

Jenny joined us in November 2023, having previously worked as a childminder for 10 years. Jenny brings a wealth of early years experience with her and is always ready to play! She has 3 children and loves spending time together with them as a family.

 

 

Emelia Wand - Apprentice childcare assistant - Level 3

Emelia (or Mimi as the children call her!) started in September 2022 this year as one of our childcare apprentices. She has completed her level 2 apprenticeship and is now working on her level 3. S

She spends time supporting learning across all of the rooms, as she begins to learn all about child development. Mimi is excited to be  training with us and is always ready to play. She loves getting to know all of the children and cosying up to read stories with them!

 

Ella Townsend - Apprentice childcare assistant - Level 2

Ella joined us in September 2022 to begin her Apprenticeship in Early Years. She spends time supporting learning across all of the rooms, as she begins to learn all about child development. Ella is always ready to greet the children with a warm and welcoming smile.

 

Jess Grosse - Apprentice Childcare Assistant - Level 2

Jess joined us in September 2023 to begin her Level 2 Apprenticeship in Early Years. She spends time supporting learning across all of the rooms, as she begins to learn all about child development. Jess loves getting to know all of the children and helping them learn.

 

Von Sellars - Childcare Assistant

Yvonne joined Wyndham Park Nursery School in April this year as a childcare assistant. She has previously worked as a childminder for over 20 years and brings lots of experience with her! Yvonne is passionate about early childhood education and loves working with our children and watching them develop.

 

Judith Cox - Nursery Assistant Relief

Judith ran our After School club but retired a few years ago. She still pops in and helps us if we need a hand!

Support Staff

Amanda Grimshaw - Senior Administrator

Amanda has worked at WPNS since March 2013 and has been in admin for many years.

Amanda loves the fame that comes with her job (when she is spotted in town by one of the children!!)

She has two children of her own, who both attended Wyndham Park Nursery School.

Paul Wells - Caretaker

Paul has worked at WPNS since October 2018.  He had previously worked as a builder so we look forward to giving him lots of exciting extra jobs to do!!! Paul has grown up children and grandchildren who he enjoys spending time with.

He opens and locks up the nursery school every day, ensuring we are all safe and secure
